glipizide mg After a meditative opening, each number tended to settle into a sharply etched repeating melodic pattern, more typical of South Indian music than Northern. Sometimes they were slow and ballad-like, in which case Mahadavan took the lead, soaring up to powerful, penetrating high notes without a trace of vibrato. In the fast numbers it was the instrumentalists who took over, McLaughlin and mridangam player U Srinivas vying with each other in long sustained volleys of rapid notes. It could almost have been a South Indian classical concert, apart from the discreet touches of harmony from McLaughlin, and a definite bluesy flavour in certain numbers.
